Romanian National Day Celebrated in Washington

Ambassador George Maior

The Romanian Embassy in Washington organized a festive get-together on the occasion of Romanian National Day, which also marked the 30 year anniversary since the Revolution. The event was co-organized with the Romanian Cultural Institute. Two famous classical musicians (Remus Azoitei and Eduard Stan) offered a special musical performance.

In his remarks, Romanian Ambassador to the US, George Cristian Major, raised the crucial work done in support of the union by the Romanian community in the United States.

Ambassador Maior also introduced the new US Ambassador to Romania, Adrian Zuckerman. Ambassador Zuckerman addressed the guests in Romanian and spent some time greeting people and mingling during the reception that followed.

More than 200 people, including members of the Romanian community from the Washington region, diplomatic corps and a large American public attended the event.
